Biography
Originally from Wisconsin, Lucy Tansey is a metal and glass artist currently working towards her BFA in Craft / Materials at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Creating both functional and sculptural work, she draws inspiration from Art Deco and Art Nouveau stylistics. Her experiences with living in various regions of the U.S. provide a steady backdrop for her fascination with the natural ecological world and the countless organisms that inhabit it. Pulling inspiration from these, she creates works that draw attention to the seemingly small details and occurrences in an ecosystem that often go unappreciated.
